THE DIFFERENT STYLES

All of Balthazar’s paintings can be different in terms of colors, forms and symbols. However, we can distinguish three different styles the artist uses. Each is linked to the artist’s past and is a reference to an old writing system.
â—‹The Khipu

The Khipu series represents 80% of Balthazar’s work. It is a combination of up to fifty small symbols used to create a painting. Most of these symbols were used by the artist at the early stage of his activity.

â—‹The Glyphs

The Glyphs series represents 19% of the artist’s work. Unlike Khipu, it includes much bigger forms. Symbols can be partially or fully colored and there is more space between them. Symbols come straight from the artist’s imagination.

â—‹The Olmec

The Olmec series represents 1% of his work. As it takes a lot of time to complete - even a small painting - and requires specifics tools, the Olmec style is hardly used. These symbols are an extension of the ones used in Khipu.
